HELP!

I've been a follower of a lot of my friends' blogs for quite a while now.  I love hearing about their lives, seeing what's new with their kids, and just catching up via this amazing stuff we call technology.  To be quite honest, I'm a bit of a blog stalker ... but that's not what I need help with ...

I cannot figure out how to make my blog look more interesting!!!  And it's rather frustrating!  I pride myself in being somewhat technologically intelligent.  I know my way around a computer - whether it be a Mac or a PC.  I know my Excel formulas.  I can navigate the World Wide Web like no one else.  For some reason, this has me stumped!!!

So, you blogging friends out there ... HELP!  How do I put in pictures?  How do I set up links within a post (Liz)?  I'm so lost on this one!

  1. ha! I'll help - and I'm totally technotarded :)
    1) in the top corner of my blog, there is a link button to aqua poppy designs. this lady makes pretty backgrounds you can cut and paste for free - with directions
2)to insert a link, there is a button on the blogger post toolbar. when you're typing whatever, you click on the link button, add whatever address you want to link to, and the link will show up - with the those long address. if you select the whole address, you can type 1 word to replace the whole address and the link will remain. Just don't use a space - it will delete the link, and you'll have to do it again.
    2) pictures are similar. there is a button to use on the blogger toolbar. it will let you choose the size of the pic and placement. I, however, have not learned how to do anything more cool with the pics - i think lots of bloggers use photoshop, and i have no clue :)
hope this helps!! blogging is pretty fun!

  2. I agree with Liz's instructions - and I can see you've been playing around with them!
Another tool is to look at the html codes and try to figure out what they mean. Click on the "edit html" tab and you'll see what I mean. Understanding some of the basics can help when Blogger's choice of spacing gets wacko.
Hope you're enjoying the new job!
